You got two approaches for Windows PC (it), as well as to improve and speed up Windows: device Slimming.
The most cost-effective way to speed up any PC hardware-wise, the more random access memory (RAM). May not be able to do this on your laptop, especially if you have selected the money-saving configuration when you purchased it.
You can find, download and run the portable version of the System Information for Windows (SIW). When the program is running, select the memory of a hardware partition, so you can see what you've learned and what you can to take the motherboard.
But do not surprised, if you have already maxed out the RAM. Owning a laptop computer, set a limit on the number of updated hardware settings. Laptops are just not as scalable desktops.
Another option is to replace the hard disk firmware with Solid State drive (SSD). But it is very expensive, and likely to reduce the amount of storage capacity.
So now it will be interesting to see what we do to speed up Windows:
Clean out your own autoloaders. It is shocking how many programs load automatically whenever you start. Not only is this process slows down, but may slow down Windows itself. See Why slow Boots? suggestions for fixing the thorny problem.
Consider the sleeker security software. You can't afford to turn off the firewall and autoloaders are two real-time anti-malware (also known as) antivirus program. These really are needed all the time. But some programs slow down more than others. For more information, see security in General, you may want to discuss the great powers, and how these programs on PC speed battle. It's a good idea to also check the performance test results of the anti-virus comparative and Antivirus Ware.
To Disable Aero. Microsoft Vista (and keep the Windows 7), transparent appearance takes a fancy clock cycles. Personally, I think it's a good idea to open the appearance of the modest performance hit, but if you disagree, you should disable it by following these steps:
Vista from the Windows desktop, right-click, and then click Customize, and then click window color and appearance. Click Open classic appearance properties for more color options (if you don't see the option, the Aero is already in use), and then click the color scheme, other than on a computer that is running Windows Aero.
Windows 7, Windows desktop, right-click, and then click Customize. Select the theme that appears in the basic and high contrast themes below the header.
If you are using Vista, you may want to consider upgrading to Win7. It really speeds up things. But a custom (clean) installation. See the instructions to upgrade to Windows 7: ".
If you upgrade the operating system seems a little extreme, than at least Vista Sidebar. Right-click an empty space in the sidebar, and then click Properties. Clear the start sidebar when Windows starts.
